the design explores the subtle beauty of sounds in an arrangement of three objects: a sonic triptych of side tables. the natural materials used create a new acoustic relationship with other furniture and objects through their haptics and natural sound. the tables are audible - the sound is explicitly their function and added value.

sound surrounds us everywhere and at all times. absolute silence is unimaginable. due to the overabundance of acoustic stimuli, we hear a lot but are hardly able to really listen carefully, to notice object sounds - to hear things. the design explores the subtle beauty of sounds in an arrangement of three objects: a sonic triptych of side tables. the natural materials used create a special quality of new acoustic relationships with other furniture and objects around living spaces through their haptics and natural sound. the tables are audible - the sound is explicitly their function and added value. side tables made of turned portuguese cork; cast iron; handmade gabbro impala (31cm x 53cm x 31cm).

cast iron

as the name suggests, the cast iron version is cast from a solid iron alloy. in the process, the hot iron flows into a sand mold that replicates the contour of the side table. the raw mold is then glass-bead blasted and surface treated - and the tabletop mirror is polished.
