cargo drone

in cooperation with cyclotech and japan's largest logistics company yamato, neow design was commissioned to realize the concept of a cargo drone.
using patented voith-schneider rotor technology, ccy - 01 functions omnidirectionally and paves the way for a new generation of vertical take-off aircraft.

cyclotech / CCY-01

in cooperation with cyclotech and japan's largest logistics company yamato, neow design was asked to realize the concept of a cargo drone. the unmanned eVTOL aircraft uses 6 of cyclotech's unique-battery-powered cyclorotors. cyclorotors function omnidirectionally and therefore offer great advantages over conventional propulsion systems. the main task for the design study was the integration of yamato's PUPA pod. this pod serves as a cargo container and can be loaded and unloaded independently. furthermore, the special architecture and the respective positioning of the 6 rotors had to be adhered to, while at the same time providing ergonomically sensible loading options for the existing PUPA pod. in close cooperation with cyclotech's aerodynamics team, a flow-optimized cargo drone with a payload of 45 kg and a range of 40km was created.

a rail system allows the yamato PUPA pod to be moved electrically into the flight position. the ergonomic design allows packages to be removed even when loaded. the shape of the PUPA results in a flow-optimized form that fits with the drone.
